About Us & Artist Statement

Sabo Design's one-of-a kind pieces and limited production collections are based on Annamarie's original designs, and her work is produced by local casters and by hand in her studio, situated on her half acre farm in West Seattle.

Sabo Designs is sold at select speciality retails stores, museums and galleries throughout the United States and Canada.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My process begins with the discovery of a pattern, texture or sculptural element within a botanical.

Then the point d'emergence occurs where the wearable art piece is complete in its coherence. From this vision I draw out its essence in precious metals. I envision each piece as an intimate study of nature, a unique creation of form and function.

The jewelry I create cannot be separated from the natural environment. I delight in the constant array of shapes and contours nature presents. In my design and casting process I am careful to preserve as much of the plant's innate architecture preferring irregular beauty over an idealized copy.

Using materials that honor the living environment, I source Fair Trade, conflict free gemstones and emphasize the use of reclaimed silver and gold in my casts. Integrity is at the heart of my creative process. For me, making jewelry is a way to pay tribute to the world in which we live. Sharing its beauty with others is my greatest reward.
